At the festival gateway, Hakata Sennen-no-mon Gate, you’ll find original lanterns and a sign tower. By day, enjoy them as decorations that complement the townscape, and by night as a magical space wrapped in light. They’re also popular spots for taking photos, and they make a splendid starting point for your stroll.
Digital Exhibition at Hakata Machiya Furusato-kan
“Lantern Street – Bamboo Lights Reviving the Memories of the Old Town”
A special exhibition combining bamboo lights and digital signage will be held outside the Hakata Machiya Furusato-kan. The way the town looked at the time and Hakata Yamakasa floats will be recreated through images, with interactive features like photos that start moving when you wave your hand. By day, enjoy it as you walk through town, and by night, experience history and tradition in a new way, wrapped in magical light. *Program is subject to change.
