As the song goes, “I came to Hakata alone, but I go home with a doll by my side.” Hakata dolls are well-known as souvenirs. In this workshop, you can design your own original Hakata doll and take it home the same day.

Hakata Traditional Craft and Design Museum Thanksgiving Festival

Celebrating the wonders of craftsmanship under the theme of “Make, Learn, and Use,” this event features craft workshops, original works on display, and sales. Masters of traditional crafts—including Hakata-ori textiles, Hakata dolls, Hakata papier-mâché, and Koishiwara ware—will gather, offering a hands-on experience where visitors can enjoy “seeing, making, and buying” without having to visit individual studios.
