About Hakata Old Town
Light Up Walk Sennen Koya?

The Hakata Old Town Light Up Walk Sennen Koya began in 2006 with the hope of bringing people closer to the historical scenery of temples, shrines, and gardens through illumination. Amid the solemn stillness created by Hakata’s historic temples and the gentle glow of light, you can enjoy a moment of peace, as if released from the busyness of everyday life.

About Hakata Old Town
"博多旧市街"?

During the Middle Ages, Hakata prospered as one of Japan’s largest trading ports. In Hakata Old Town (Hakata Kyushigai "博多旧市街"), many traditions, cultures, and stories from that era are still passed down today.
The area is filled with attractions such as quiet streets lined with historic temples and shrines, lively shopping arcades, encounters with Hakata’s traditional crafts and performing arts, and the vibrant lifestyle of Hakata’s people, who are well known for their love of festivals. It is a place where you can truly feel history and culture, making your journey in Fukuoka even more memorable.
